Fremont County School District No. 25’s Rendezvous School is located at North 5th West and Park Streets in Riverton, Wyoming. The grounds around the building have experienced drainage problems for many years. The parking lot, which also serves as parking for school staff and the football field, was gravel. The sidewalk, curb and gutters had deteriorated and were not up to ADA code. These issues were all a concern for safety of employees and patrons.
James Gores and Associates developed conceptual plans for relocation of both bus loading and unloading and designated parent drop off zones to alleviate the traffic congestion and improve safety for pedestrians. It was determined parking lots needed to be expanded and resurfaced to utilize maximum usability, improve traffic circulation, and reduce potential conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles.
Using site surveys and topographical mapping, James Gores and Asssociates, P.C. developed workable solutions to site drainage issues through site and grading modifications. An estimate of costs was submitted which was within the budget and approved by the Wyoming Schools Facilities Commission. Through the bidding process a contractor was selected and construction was completed before the onset of fall activities at the school.
James Gores and Asssociates, P.C. negotiated with the City of Riverton for reimbursement to the FCSD No. 25 for cost of the curb and gutter.
